the fine art photography gallery Railroad Paint was started while exploring the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in California's Sierra Nevada foothills. This grouping is part of an ongoing project to photograph the varied metal surfaces of old freight cars. I find myself drawn to the way various typography and oxidized colors play off of the metal surfaces, preferring to include only partial details in my photos. Each fine art photograph is a study of the effects that human touch and the elements have on the surface. They explore both the way that paint and corrosion mix, and the unintentional artistic layering and application of text.
